Managing Divorce Cases Online

Crosby & Woods are pleased to announce that we have been approved to use the HMCTS online services. Gone are the days of piling up paper files for divorce, and now is the time to turn to digital divorce services to help streamline the process, and all this can be done whilst we continue to maintain the same high standard of personal service for our clients.

What Is HMCTS?

HM Courts & Tribunals Service is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice which is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales.

The HMCTS website has been designed to provide a single place for legal professionals and other organisations to issue, pay for and manage applications within civil and family courts and tribunals.

What Does It Mean For The Divorce Process?

The good news for our clients and the firm is that going forward, we can provide a more efficient online divorce service. The service enables us to file divorce petitions with the court online rather than using the old paper style system. This will ensure cases are dealt with more quickly by the court and will help to avoid delays caused by the court processing paper applications. It also makes the process more environmentally friendly!

The new system will allow us to instantly check the progress of cases and keep clients updated more easily. We estimate that this will cut the time it will take for a divorce to progress through the court by 50%.

Even More Good News!

In light of this, we are also pleased to announce that we can reduce our fixed fees for acting for a petitioner in an undefended divorce from £750 plus vat to £650 plus vat and disbursements.
